Cheryl Cusick
Winner of the Newcastle Dobell in 2004 and the Newcastle Art Prize, Cheryl Cusick has consistently won or achieved placing in nearly every competition she has entered. As far back as 1969, Cheryl has been involved in the arts. Working as an art teacher, she has taught both adults and children. She has worked hard as a project officer in the Community Youth Support Scheme, as well as developing the skills of young artists. Cheryl now devotes all of her time to her own artistic endeavours and her paintings hang in collections all over the world. Her most recent works are a true reflection of the connection she has with Australia’s natural environment. Based on the interaction of all the elements, Cheryl’s work captures the texture and colour of our landscape in a way that can only be described as inspirational.
