Marc Rambeau

Marc Rambeau was born in France. He studied art at the Villa Thiole in Nice from 1961 to 1963. From 1968 onwards, Rambeau's work took him to the South Pacific where he lived in Tahiti ,New Caledonia and New Zealand until he took up residence in Australia where in 1989 he became an Australian citizen.He is well known for his landscapes that radiate vibrant colour with paint applied in thick impasto and for his strong but delicately drawn nudes on rice paper applied to canvas. He has held many successful exhibitions in such diverse places as Australia, France, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Tahiti and China
