Victor Rubin

Victor Rubin was born in Sydney. John Olsen was one of his tutors at the Bakery Art School. From 1970 - 1973 he studied at the National Art School, East Sydney and Alexander Mackie Teachers College, and was awarded with a Diploma of Art Education.

He has exhibited extensively throughout Australia in solo and  group shows. His work is held in private and public collections in Australia, New Zealand and the USA. Prominent collections include the National Gallery of Australia, Canberra, the National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne, Miles Davis, New York and the State Bank Collection.

His awards include the Half Standard Grant awarded by the Visual Arts Board of the Australian Council in 1986. In 2009 he was a finalist in the Sulman Prize at The Art Gallery of NSW, Sydney.
